About the event

Your place on our March 2024 Tutored Writing Retreat for Beginners, offers you a place to write in the way which suits you - alone or in a group; following a retreat schedule or pursuing your own plan; with support from your host and tutor, or working independently.  No previous experience of writing or retreating is necessary, and you don't even have to know what you're going to write!  Our mix of workshops and one-to-one time will give you ideas, models, structures and positive feedback to build confidence in you, your project and your writing.

Choose whether you wish to stay for five nights or three when you book and pay the deposit. For the duration of your tutored retreat, your accommodation will be in one of our spacious, ensuite bedrooms with TV, WiFi, Tea and Coffee making facilities, all toiletries and - of course - a desk at which to write if you choose to.  During the day you will have access to the group writing table, our lounge writing space (with a view over the valley), your bedroom writing space and, of course, our extensive garden and grounds where you might discover your own place to write.  We have a copious supply of writing tools and equipment to support you, and you can draw on our extensive library to inspire you too.

All meals are included and we provide a full breakfast menu, a buffet lunch and a home-cooked hot evening meal plan.  Packed lunches are available if you wish to venture out on an activity or local walk or climb at any time.  At breaktimes we offer a selection of biscuits and home-baked cakes with as much coffee, tea and juices as you can drink!  All meals include a vegetarian option.  Other diets, and all common allergies, can be catered for.

    Payment of this deposit secures you one of our superior rooms for a five-day retreat at a total price, including the deposit, of £695 including VAT (£545 concessions).       • Extra Night incl B'Fast - £65

        This option is subject to room availability and is only available in conjunction with a superior, standard or attic room on a retreat. It reserves an extra night in your accommodation to enable you to extend your stay. You can choose whether this is the night before or the night after the retreat check-in/check-out. The price of just £55, payable on arrival, includes breakfast but not other meals/hospitality and is designed to allow you to maximise your time at A Place To Write.
