The Launch of Our Online Support (with Founding Member Offer!)
After many requests over the past four years we have finally - some might say belatedly - put together our online support programme. And it's launching TODAY - Saturday 24th October 2026 - with a very special offer for Founding Members available for just two weeks.
This launch marks an important step for A Place to Write, providing a resource for our guests to maintain their momentum and achievements long after leaving one of our residential retreats. Writers have, until now, relied on finding their own ways to maintain focus when they return to the 'real world' at the end of a retreat, but today we are launching three new tiers of support for guests after they return home. And while these three opportunities are available to writers who haven't escaped to A Place to Write yet, it is to past guests - who know Nic and the effectiveness of his theatrical approach to writing - that we are making a special offer today.
To celebrate the launch of our online support, we are opening with a Founding Members offer. It is designed for the first people who join and help shape the programme from the beginning. It will not be available indefinitely - in fact, this particular offer is only available for two weeks ending on Saturday 7th November 2027. What are the options for support and how much will a Founding Member pay for them?
There are three tiers to our online offer: 'Write', 'Develop' and 'Manuscript'. Between them they cover most writers' need on their writing journey. Just choose the level of support which you are seeking at this time. Full details of tiers and prices (from Founding Member to Introductory to full Standard price) can be found on the online support page of our website, but what follows is a summary to give you a flavour of what's on offer:
Tier 1: 'Write'
Our just Write tier is for writers who want to be part of an organised writing session on a regular basis.
Join Nic for eight such sessions every month, online via zoom, with the opportunity to set goals, write for 60 minutes in a group setting, and then enjoy the chance to socialise a little with other writers in breakout room for smaller groups.
The sessions run on Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons each month and, while no-one is expected to attend every session, the idea is that you make a date to meet, block out that date in your calendar, and then simply use the zoom link we'll send you to join the meeting at the scheduled start time. Once these sessions are up and running, Founding Members will be able to help develop the schedule to make it work for as many writers as possible in a sustainable way.
For Founding Members only, Tier 1 is priced at just £9 per month if you pay quarterly, and that price will be held for a minimum of 18 months, as long as you maintain a continuous subscription.
Tier 2: 'Develop'
The 'Develop' offer is for writers who are keen to explore tips, tricks, and tools to develop the quality and effectiveness of their writing over time - with developmental feedback along the way.
This tier offers a monthly interactive online workshop, a monthly video featuring quick tips and tricks, a monthly creative task for you to attempt, complete with developmental feedback, and the opportunity to set short and medium term goals which Nic will help you remember, develop and achieve.
The workshop takes place on Zoom, one Sunday evening each month (usually the first Sunday of the month) and it will be recorded for anyone who is unable to attend in person. In this session a key aspect of storytelling will be explored through writing tasks, analysis of a text, and other challenges to be completed. There's no requirement to share your work but those who choose to will get in-session feedback from Nic and the opportunity to invite wider constructive comment from the workshop group too.
The monthly video will provide key tips and tricks associated with the topics explored in the main monthly workshops. Each video will be only 10-15 minutes long and will be filmed at different times each month (according to Nic's schedule). The sessions will build into a library and each recording will be sent out to current members for them to access and return to, as and when they need inspiration or motivation to write.
The creative task (or challenge!) will be set each month at the end of the Sunday workshop with a deadline of three weeks to complete and, if you wish, to submit for possible in-session review. At the start of the next Sunday workshop, some time will be taken out to look at a couple of examples of the work to illustrate effective writing. Other completed submissions will also be reviewed.
As part of this package, members also get the chance to set monthly and quarterly goals, which Nic will help you work towards. Oh yes, and Tier 2 members also get access to all the eight writing sessions available in Tier 1 - meaning a complete programme of support for anyone who is serious about writing more and developing their writing over time. The Founding Member offer for Tier 2 begins at just £45 per month if paid quarterly.
Tier 3: 'Manuscript'
This is the crown jewel in our support offer: a chance to engage closely with Nic over a 6-month period for detailed individual support on the creation and/or development of a manuscript in an intensive one-to-one process.
At the start of your personal programme, Nic will meet with you online to review the current state of your project, set realistic goals for the 6-month period, and plan your schedule. From that point on you have all the Tier 1 and Tier 2 opportunities available to you, as part of your exclusive Tier 3 membership.
The core part of this exclusive offer is the opportunity for you to share your project with Nic, in total confidence, and receive extensive developmental support on your manuscript over a 6-month period. You submit up to 5,000 words of your manuscript to Nic each month and he undertakes to read and feedback on it in a one-hour online one-to-one each month. This one-to-one session will also include ongoing analysis and evaluation of the full manuscript, alongside discussion of issues, concerns, and challenges that have arisen since the last meeting. This element of Tier 3 is designed to help you make concrete progress on your manuscript in a clear, motivated and sustainable manner.
Alongside the core offer (as well as the opportunities afforded by full access to Tier 1 and Tier 2 sessions), Tier 3 includes up to six additional fifteen minute online meetings with Nic to tackle any unexpected hiccups or hurdles in your writing such as temporary writer's block, a seemingly impossible conundrum, a difficult choice, or even loss of confidence or motivation.
And towards the end of the 6-month period Nic will meet online with you again for a 'next-steps' session to ensure you have a plan for the future when your time with Nic comes to an end.
The Founding Members offer rewards early action
The Founding Members offer is available to the first people who join the programme. It recognises the value of those who come in at the start and support the programme in its earliest phase, as it takes root and begins to grow.
Early members are not joining a finished product after everyone else has gone first; they are helping build the energy, rhythm and momentum of the programme from the beginning. Their engagement, questions, and progress all help to shape an effective and sustainable programme of support for everyone who joins thereafter. There may be some early hiccups to sort out, but that's all part of the journey.
