Susannah has won numerous awards for her poetry and brings with her a wealth of expertise in both writing poetry and getting published! Her focus as a tutor is on developing each poet's unique voice and previous attendees of her workshops have praised her 'original approach'​, resulting in 'perfectly pitched, intellectually stimulating, emotionally rewarding' sessions, all delivered with Susannah's trademark 'sense of fun and enthusiasm'.

Susannah's poems have been published in print and online. She has won the Poetry Society's prestigious National Poetry Competition, and her debut collection Out of True won the Live Canon First Collection Prize. Aside from writing her own poems, Susannah has an editorial role at Magma Poetry and is a judge for Magma's annual short-poem competition. Susannah is also on the board of Poetry in Aldeburgh, the annual festival on the Suffolk Coast. Susannah runs workshops across the UK for poets with all levels of experience and, as a writer who submits and an editor who selects, she understands what makes a poem tick.
